Alli & Jason’s Wedding Day

Alli and Jason are married!! The day began at The Padre Hotel where the stage was set for some pre-ceremony portraits and of course the first look between the bride and groom. This time, we opted to surprise Jason and not let him know the first look was officially happening. So, while the oh-so-handsome groom posed for some portraits, Alli sneaked to the top of the stairs where her husband-to-be would see her for the first time in her wedding gown. Alli looked stunning!

The day then continued at The Bayou for ceremony and reception. This was my first time at the Bayou as a photographer and I gotta say, I really loved it. The colors created by the trees and the deep blue ceiling really replicate the night sky. The mother of the bride made a beautiful cake, and the tables were decorated with wine themed decor because “like good wine, love too grows stronger as it grows older.” During the ceremony, even a few non-traditional situations could not take the attention from this lovely couple. When you see the look on their faces when they look at each other…. oh… it just melts my heart. I know this may sound cheesy but it really was a beautiful day full of friends, laughter and love. Congratulations Alli and Jason!! Thank you for asking me to capture these beautiful memories for you.

Jessica and Tony will welcome baby Whitley this January. How do you celebrate and document the beautiful arrival of your first baby? With a picnic of course! Complete with apple cider and cupcakes from Frosting Inc. Jessica and Tony are just so adorable and sweet! With parents like this, I can’t wait to meet the little one. Oh and don’t worry, she will be making another appearance here on the blog as soon as she arrives!

For these images, I set out on a collaborative journey with a very special person in front of my camera. It was a very unique session and a very special opportunity for me to push my creativity. We all want love to be a constant in our lives. Yet sometimes love changes, and we are forced to take steps into territory we never imagined finding ourselves. Through out the day we had three words in our head, Freedom, Healing, and Beauty…This is what we came up with…

Something about little boys running makes you smile. You can’t help it. It makes you wish you had a fraction of that energy from your childhood bottled up. As you are about to see, little Derek helped his family have a very high energy portrait session, and it was so much fun. We threw footballs, sticks, leaves and pine cones. We did a lot of laughing… and thanks to Grandma even more laughing. The love between this family was so beautiful.

When they first drove up in the sunshine yellow bug I knew this was going to be a good day. Despite the threat of rain, it never came down on us. Not even a drop. Instead we had a beautiful sky. I think it’s because they brought their own sunshine with them, along with lots of smiles and maybe even a little luck. This family is truly love personified. Ed, Jacquie, Jacob, and Emily: thanks for sharing some time with me and allowing me to capture your beautiful family.

Sarah and Will’s Wedding Day

Sarah and Will were married at the Bell Tower Club in Bakersfield. Their wedding day was flooded with fabulous vendors, and I am so honored to be included in the group. They were kind enough to print out a list for their guests and I snatched one up to list them here on the blog. But first, I will share the photos of Sarah and Will looking super gorgeous.

I also must say, October has been a super popular wedding month. Naturally in October there is a certain holiday and colors that are often associated with this time of year. However, I think it has been interpreted beautifully by each of my October couples and in their own unique way. Sarah and Will incorporated white pumpkins, an adorable groom’s cake, and to top it all off, Will showed me his socks! As you will see, on the socks was written, “I put a spell on you,” which was fitting for such a magical evening.

Lacey and Bill’s Wedding Day

Lacey and Bill had a beautiful country wedding on a private estate. Out among orchards and shining pastures, an exquisite ranch style home set the stage for this wonderful day. Some of the highlights include: three adorable flower girls in their polka-dot dresses, the perfect fall color pallete provided by Garden District Flowers, and lets not forget, a beautiful happy couple to capture in this amazing location! By the end of the night is was definitely a party. As the sun went down Freestyle Event Services provided us with amazing lighting so we could capture the moments and details all through the night. Lacey and Bill – congratulations and thank you for having me be a part of your special day!

Jenny and Jacob’s Wedding Day

Ok, so I am just warning you. When you see these photos, and you see how absolutely adorable Jenny and Jacob are, you are going to fall in love with them.. but it will be too late for you…because they just got married.
Jenny and Jacob are both so sweet and kind. It’s no surprise that everyone involved in their wedding would be just as delightful. They planned an amazing wedding day on 10.10.10 at the Junior League of Bakersfield. This was my first time shooting at Junior League and I was quite impressed by the venue. Not to mention all the fun downtown spots we were close by. The couple opted to do a First Look so we had plenty of time for portraits! So many special personal touches went into making this day beautiful and fun for all involved. There was a photo booth, cotton candy machine, ring toss game, candied apples, and even a kissing booth where guests could write in lipstick on a mirror to share their wishes with the happy couple. Also, just an FYI, every soda taste better when you are drinking it out of an ice cold vintage bottle! I heard a few people joke, “Are we at a wedding or a carnival?!” That just shows how much fun they made it for their guests. It was such a beautiful and fun day. The perfect way for Jenny and Jacob to begin the first of many wonderful days together.

The night ended with a special Thriller dance for Jenny and Jacob.
