The day then continued at The Bayou for ceremony and reception. This was my first time at the Bayou as a photographer and I gotta say, I really loved it. The colors created by the trees and the deep blue ceiling really replicate the night sky. The mother of the bride made a beautiful cake, and the tables were decorated with wine themed decor because “like good wine, love too grows stronger as it grows older.” During the ceremony, even a few non-traditional situations could not take the attention from this lovely couple. When you see the look on their faces when they look at each other…. oh… it just melts my heart.  I know this may sound cheesy but it really was a beautiful day full of friends, laughter and love. Congratulations Alli and Jason!! Thank you for asking me to capture these beautiful memories for you.

I also must say, October has been a super popular wedding month. Naturally in October there is a certain holiday and colors that are often associated with this time of year. However, I think it has been interpreted beautifully by each of my October couples and in their own unique way. Sarah and Will incorporated white pumpkins, an adorable groom’s cake, and to top it all off, Will showed me his socks! As you will see, on the socks was written, “I put a spell on you,” which was fitting for such a magical evening.

Rain?! Of all days. Yes, it rained and Megan and Josh found themselves just 30 minutes before their outdoor wedding ceremony watching the rain come down from inside the Noriega House. Mallory, Megan’s maid of honor and sister, took a look outside and said, “Well, lets say a prayer.” And as it turns out, the rain really didn’t put a damper on the wedding at all. I did a little bit of umbrella holding. Other than that, the rain stopped, the chairs were wiped down and the once inconvenient weather provided us with perfect light.

The plum and lavender details complimented the venue perfectly. The flowers were, as Megan described, whimsical. Mallory, who is also a hair stylists, did an amazing job! So many personal touches and happy people.

I have known Kyle for years. We took trips with our families to Shaver Lake as kids, attended the same high school and even both graduated as Fresno State alumni! When I heard he was engaged, I of course jumped at the opportunity to capture this special moment for him.  Michael is spontaneous (the fountain photos were his idea!) and constantly spreading laughter. Kyle has always been one of those people with a truly kind heart. After spending the afternoon with Kyle and Michael, there is no question they have such a happy life ahead of them.

Last fall I met Sarah and Jason for the first time. Sarah looked oh so cool in her Shins T-shirt and I looked like I was about to perform as an extra in Mary Poppins to the song “Step in Time.” Sarah and Jason were awesome enough to meet me out at the Market Place because I was participating in the street painting festival. I was covered in chalk, and it was a super unconventional meeting for a wedding consult. Yet, I think unconventional was a great start. Sarah and Jason have been so awesome to work with. Two engagement sessions and numerous tweets later, I feel like I am photographing the wedding of long time friends. I told Sarah that first day that we would go from strangers to friends. I’m sure I came off totally weird at the time, but luckily it didn’t scare her away. Now it’s true. Their wedding day is finally here! And I am so excited!
