Yes, candlepin bowling was my favorite thing we did in Boston! I liked it so much, over half my photos from my trip were at this location. Not only did I happen to be awesome at it,
but it was such a unique thing to do. I had never heard of it before. It’s a lot like regular bowling, only with skinny pins and bowling balls that fit in your hand (kind of like ski ball at Chucky Cheese). Vanessa had us all select a retro name to go along with our super vintage activity. Herb, Maude, Hugh and Pearl had quite the competition going. Of course I was as shocked as anyone when Pearl (aka me) actually pulled away for the win during our last game. I’m sure you can see by the photos what a time warp this place was, another reason why I absolutely loved it! We could have gone candle pin bowling at a more modern bowling alley, but our friends knew we would get a kick out of this cute little place in their neighborhood. If you are ever in Boston, I highly recommend going to Sacco’s Bowl Haven in Davis Square.
If you want to see candlepin bowling in action, Brad took his Flip and you can see a few clips of it in his vacation video.
